The Fourth World Congress on Ozone Therapy is currently being held in Rome. Ozone therapy is an ancient medical practice that has recently attracted growing interest from both the scientific community and its users. Three days of meetings and debates to discuss the use and benefits of this therapeutic modality—discovered in Germany by Von Siemens in 1847—will include talks by professionals belonging to SIOOT, the Italian Scientific Society of Oxygen-Ozone Therapy, founded in 1983.

It is a medical practice that uses two gases: oxygen and nitrogen to cure many diseases. The active ingredient is a mixture of oxygen and ozone in very low percentages, which is administered by insufflation or injection, or as autohemotherapy, i.e., the extraction of a small amount of blood from a vein, which is then re-injected into a muscle of the same patient. This therapy is characterized by low costs and great benefits. Last but not least, it is a technique that has no side effects, as it is carried out with oxygen, an essential element for the life of our body, which is converted into ozone.
