Causes of Fibromyalgia
The specific causes of the onset of fibromyalgia are not known today despite the studies that have been carried out on the disease. Some results relate the disease to a deficiency in the pain threshold, as differences are seen at the brain level between a fibromyalgia patient and a healthy person, in brain activity and blood flow in response to a painful stimulus.
Symptoms of Fibromyalgia
The main symptom is diffuse and generalized musculoskeletal pain or prominent stiffness that affects at least three anatomical locations and lasts for at least three months. The pain is usually intense and, in many cases, difficult to describe.
Treatment of Fibromyalgia
Once the pathophysiological diagnosis has been established and other diseases have been ruled out, a personalized treatment protocol is carried out with several phases where several of the techniques of biological medicine and, if necessary, conventional medicine are combined, that is, what we call integrative medicine is applied.
