Crohn's disease also affects children.

Crohn's disease is on the rise among children. Specifically, in the last 25 years, the incidence among children has increased tenfold, reaching 3 cases per 100,000 children annually. Only 10% of cases are diagnosed before the patient reaches the age of five.

Crohn's disease also affects children.

These data were presented by Fernando Gomollón, president of the Spanish Working Group on Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (GETECCU), who emphasized that although Spain has one of the highest incidence rates of this disease worldwide, "we are by no means the worst when it comes to treatment and care for the disease."

Crohn's disease is classified as an inflammatory bowel disease, along with ulcerative colitis, which are characterized by symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, and weight loss.

Dr. Gomollón emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and stated that "Parents demand doctors who specialize in the disease, so it is very important to raise awareness among the population that these diseases exist and to educate and involve the relevant agents."

Personalized treatment

At Biosalud, we treat Crohn's disease through personalized treatment that is made possible by compiling an extensive medical history that includes tests to discover energetic, macro- and micronutritional causes, interfering and dental foci, exogenous or endogenous toxins, intestinal dysbiosis and related conditions, and immune causes.
