Diagnóstico Artritis reumatoide Barcelona

We are a reference centre for the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

What is rheumatoid arthritis?

Rheumatoid arthritis is a autoimmune disease which runs with continued inflammation of the soft tissues or lining of one or more joints. Inflammation destroys the articular cartilage, progressively reducing the mobility of the affected joint through bone erosion and joint deformity.

This disease can be more serious depending on its evolution, as the affected joint may become immobilised. In some cases, arthritis can spread to the rest of the jointsIt is a cause of physical disability, and to other body systems such as the skin, eyes, heart, lungs and blood vessels with non-specific symptoms.

This is why early diagnosis and treatment to slow tissue deterioration is so important.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease with a higher incidence among womenThe first symptoms can occur at any age and sex, but the disease is not exclusive to this population group.

What causes rheumatoid arthritis?

Finding the causes of arthritis in each caseis one of the first objectives of Biosalud Day Hospital. When we see a patient with the typical symptoms of joint stiffness and pain we ask ourselves what has caused this situation in the immune system and why it is acting in this way. Causal analysis is a priority for us.

There may be some factors common to all autoimmune diseases, such as the genetic load that determines a predisposition to suffer from the disease. But it is the external factors which contribute decisively to the onset of the disease.

Environmental factors refer to:

  • Generalised or localised infections caused by bacteria or viruses, often aggravated by chronic intestinal candidiasis.
  • Addition of some extracellular environmental factors such as oxidative stress.
  • Heavy metal poisoning.
  • Food intolerances.
  • Acidic Ph in the tissues, which can worsen the diagnosis.

Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease that can affect all joints, although it occurs especially in the small joints of the hands and feet. In most cases, rheumatoid arthritis affects the joints symmetrically (on both sides of the body at the same time and to the same extent).

Symptoms affecting the joints

The main symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis affecting the joints are:

  • Limitation of movement, swelling of one or more joints, pain and tremor in the limbs, mainly on the hands.
  • Joint deformationaffected that increases over time and even prevents free movement.
  • Progressive loss of strength
  • Pain
  • Stiffness
  • Swelling, heat and redness

Additional or extra-articular symptoms

Some people with rheumatoid arthritis experience a range of more general symptoms, including:

  • Fatigue, emotional lows and lack of energy
  • A high temperature (fever)
  • Perspiration
  • Digestive problems such as gas, heavy digestion, abdominal bloating, constipation or diarrhoea
  • Weight loss

Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis

At Biosalud Day Hospital we treat rheumatoid arthritis using the most effective techniques and treatments of Biological Medicine. In general, we seek to repair the patient's immunity, thereby seeking to stop the pain and symptomatic aspects, halt the progression of the disease and restore the strength of the immune system, which is attacking the body itself.

Once the causal and biological diagnosis has been made, we protocolise the best personalised treatment that allows us to stop the disease. To do this we use highly advanced techniques in inflammation and pain control, above all, free of side effects and contraindications: ozone therapymesotherapy, focal magnetotherapy, electromagnetic bioregulation therapy, acupuncture, Physicalm, photon therapy, auriculomedicine, cryoelectrophoresis, colon hydrotherapyneural therapy, therapeutic apheresis, hyperthermia molecular hyperthermia, homeopathy, phytotherapy, orthomolecular medicine, immunogenetic biomedicine, cell therapy, cellular and regenerative medicine.
