Eating fruits and vegetables as infants reduces food intolerances.

Researchers at the University of Southampton have discovered that babies who eat a large amount of fruits and vegetables, combined with a reduction in packaged foods, develop fewer food intolerances throughout their lives.

Fruits and vegetables reduce food intolerances

The team led by Kate Grimshaw analyzed the diets of 1,140 children based on their parents' reports. They then compared the data from 41 babies with food intolerances with 82 who had no intolerances, finding that the latter had a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, chicken, and fish. The study was published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Eating according to your genetics

At Biosalud, we are very aware of the importance of nutrition for good health. That is why we have a unit dedicated to treating food intolerances in our patients, regardless of their age. To do this, we use two main tools: food intolerance testing and Food Gen.

Food intolerance testing will allow us to determine whether the patient is allergic to around three hundred allergens, providing us with extensive information that will enable us to treat them and prescribe a treatment or diet that reduces their allergies.

The study of genetics is one of the pillars of Biosalud. That is why we have created the Food Gen analysis, through which we analyze the patient's genes and give them guidelines for eating in accordance with their unique chromosomes, which are their irreplaceable genetic heritage.
