Eating chicken during adolescence prevents colon cancer

A 20% lower risk of developing colon cancer and a 50% lower risk of developing a tumor in the rectum

Scientists at Harvard University's School of Public Health have made a new discovery regarding colon cancer. They have found that children who eat chicken are 20% less likely to develop colon cancer and 50% less likely to develop a tumor in the rectum as adults.

The research was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology and drew on data from an analysis of 20,000 women since the early 1990s. Before beginning the study, they were asked about their eating habits. From this, the researchers concluded that those who had consumed more chicken during adolescence had a lower risk of developing precursors to colon cancer. The study can also be extrapolated to men.

At Biosalud, we believe that a healthy diet can help in the treatment of any type of cancer, as a poor diet can cause digestive problems. If these occur, at Biosalud we offer colon hydrotherapy treatment, a beneficial method that complements any treatment within what we classify as Biological Medicine.
