The first thing to avoid is fried foods, especially those made with oils containing fatty acids. The popular fast food that is on the rise is one of the elements to remove from your diet if you suffer from irritable bowel syndrome.

Coffee and alcohol are two other foods that it is advisable to minimise in your diet if you have this condition because both can increase intestinal acidity which will damage the irritable colon.

The importance of a healthy gut

At Biosalud we know that one of the factors for the development of many of the diseases that the organism suffers has its origin in the intestine. And this is much clearer in irritable bowel syndrome.

The colon dirt can cause this ailment and many others, so it is essential to cleanse it with techniques such as colon hydrotherapy to prevent the build-up of bacteria that can cause problems.

Colon hydrotherapy is a procedure that consists of introducing ionised and controlled water into the intestine to cleanse it of any impurities it may have. As a general guideline, at Biosalud we recommend three initial sessions plus a monthly session during the following months to keep the intestine in an optimal state and thus avoid ailments such as irritable bowel syndrome.
